Grade 7 LA: Expository essays weredue Thursday, April 25th.  A few did not submit their essays on time. Please email me your copy if you are able. If not, I must have your essays by Monday. Thank you! Please remember to read at least 20 minutes and keep in mind, is your reading material too easy, too hard or just right?
* Also, think about our Send a Message theme, can you think of any other way that we send messages each day?  
Grade 7 French: Attention Magasineur projects due Wednesday, May 1st. * Band students must present Wednesday as you are leaving bright and early on Thursday am. :)
Grade 8 French: Consommaction presentations commence on Wednesday as well.  If you finish early and want a challenge, check out our French graphic novels and picture books in the library.

Grade 7 LA Expository Essays due on Thursday. You will have two days in the computer lab this week to type your good copies. I look forward to learning about the topic that truly matters to you. :) * Reminder to read every day for a mininum of 20 minutes, genre of your choice.
Grade 7B and 7G French tests on Wednesday, review your Masculin/Feminin/Pluriel notes please. 
Grade 8G French test on Tuesday for the Consommaction vocabulary.  Please bring your booklets to class as well.

Grade 7 French: Can you beat the 30 second record? Try the "Scatter" flashcard game to help you learn the new vocabulary for our new theme.  Please bring your binders and art supplies Monday, as we will be completing the first assignment called, "un dépliant publicitaire".  ( see pages 12 to 15 for examples)

Grade 8 French: Just finished our end of unit vocabulary test for Phénomènes canadiens so no homework for Monday.
Grade 7 Language Arts: Please read for a minimum of 20 minutes a day. Monday we will be examining metaphors, similes, symbolism and imagery.  Can you find any examples that our class might enjoy? Have you been searching for interesting words to expand your vocabulary?  I wish you a lovely weekend and please no, "catastrophes, calamities or considerable set backs"  until we meet again.  ;) How was that for alliteration and word choice? I would love to see what interesting words you can find too! Happy hunting!

Thursday, April 4th

Grade 7 Language Arts: Wondrous, word choice challenge! Continue where we left off this morning, by discovering a multitude of words to expand your vocabulary. You can use a thesaurus, play a free game of Scrabble to challenge yourself, or maybe even a game of Scattegories with a family member.  You can even join a "Word a day" website if this is acceptable with your parents/guardians. Read for 20 minutes as usual, perhaps new words will jump right off the page for you. :) All of the writing traits are important, but this week our focus is to baffle us with your brilliance, using clever and creative words!
Grade 7 French:Great class participation today! I was so impressed with how brave you were with the Smart board activity and the French magazine too! Très bien! :)
Grade 8 French: Study for your end of unit  Test on Friday, Day 5, period 4.
