Grade 7 Health: Smoking presentations due Wednesday. Class time was given so please do your best and double check your rubric to aim for 12/12! :)
Grade 8 Health: Presentations this week based on your research projects. ( Drug unit)
Grade 7Language Arts: Fears and Phobias unit continued. Excellent scripts and stories. Amazing imagination. Read A Bear's Embrace Nonfiction account. Then we began to evaluate the article. Eight questions to be completed by Wednesday.
7F LA...not you... I didn't get to see you today. This is for 7E LA. :)

Grade 7 Health projects due by Wednesday, April 18th. Please double check your rubric to make sure you are aiming for your best possible score. I cannot wait to see your projects! So far...so amazing!
Grade 8 Health: The two teams that shared their research so far have truly impressed me. I look forward to witnessing the rest of the presentations Friday, April 13th.
Grade 7 LA : Fears and Phobias scripts and skits due by Friday. However, we have taken a little detour to complete an assigment in honour of "Titanic Week" at SIS.
Questions to complete following the viewing of the documentary are:
Titanic: Death of a Dream documentary
Media Literacy Response
1. In your opinion, why are many still fascinated by the Titanic? Explain (or justify your response with examples)
2. Based on what you have learned, do you believe someone was responsible for this tragic loss of life? Or… was it merely an accident? Explain.
3. Is there a lesson to be learned from this? Why or why not?
4. Why did so many people board this ship? (1st, 2nd and 3rd class.)
5. Can you make any connections? ( text to self, text to text or text to world?) Give examples.

April 3rd to April 10th
Grade 8 Drug Use and Abuse Slideshow Research. Back in the large computer lab on Day 5. All research should be complete by Thursday, April 5th. Presentations will begin on Tuesday, April 10th.
Grade 7 Health: Finishing the Positive Message and the impact on advertisements on young people. Presentations should wrap up by Wednesday.
Grade 7 LA: Summary and Non Fiction Text Pattern assignments this week. I have modelled how to summarize, they will do a sample with a partner and then they will do their own summary next week.
