As we approach June...

Grade 7:  Last Chance Summer Questions are due on Tuesday,  June 3rd.  Band students that will be missing classes have asked to have until June 6th to complete this project. The entire assignment if out of 31 points. Please read each question carefully. I look forward to the conversations that you created between you and the characters within our novel.  I am certain that your imagination will shine through and I can't wait to see your ideas come to life! :)
Grade 8: Writing Assignment/ Letter Writing. Please see the handout provided as well as the rubric.  We will negotiate a due date and you will be graded on all six writing traits: conventions, organization, sentence fluency, voice, ideas and word choice. *Please be sure to review past suggestions that I have made regarding your progress.

Grade 8ELA: Please finish your read aloud questions. Just a reminder to answer in complete sentences.
Grade 7FLA: We had a formative assessment on commonly confused homonyms. Remember our "Convention Convention?" ;) There will be a summative assessment next week so review any words that had difficulty with. Thank you and have a wonderful weekend!

7ELA: Your book reports were due on Tuesday. If you have not yet finished, please complete this evening. If you have questions, please contact me.  Six questions to complete for Last Chance Summer if you have not already done so.
7FLA: I missed you today. Day 2 I do not see you, but I hope you had a great day. :)
8ELA: Most have finished their "Ordinary to Extraordinary" paragraphing assignment. You truly made my cheeks hurt from smiling and your word choice was phenomenal! :)
8FLA:  Your presentations are tomorrow so please be sure to bring in your "Ordinary to Extraordinary" paragraphs too.
*I will be collecting your reading logs soon, so be sure to double-check that you have all of your information up to date.

Assignments

Grade 8 students complete your review sheet. Be sure to include your very own similes and metaphors on your recipe cards.   Essays were due on Tuesday, please see me if you need assistance.
Grade 7 LA: Book reports due on May 15th for 7F and May 20th for 7E.
Please read for at least 20 minutes each day after school.

Information for students and parents

Grade 8ELA: Your creative writing piece is due on Thursday. We will begin presentations that day, which falls on the 15th. * Also, a reminder that your essays are due on Tuesday, the 13th. Computer lab time and class time has been given so the majority of students have already finished.
7FLA:  May 15th your book responses are due. Also, in class we completed our first summary of chapter 1 for our new read aloud. If you did not finish this, complete at home tonight.
7ELA:  Book reports due on May 20th, we will finish chapter one of our read aloud next day as you only had one period with me today.

Assignment Update for May

Just a reminder for 8E LA that your essays are due on Monday, May 12th and 8FLA on May 13th. Class time has been given as well as computer lab time. Please see me by Friday pm if you have any questions or need additional hand-outs.
