Up to March 6th

8FLA: Memoir due on March 5th. Remember our exemplars and the check list on my chart paper? Your memoir can be serious or silly, depending on the memory that you wish to share with me. You will not be asked to share these aloud, as we are focusing on our writing outcomes.
7ELA: Mr. Griffin summative assessment this week and your CASI reading assessment too.
7FLA: Mr. G test completed and beginning a new CASI reading assessment.
8ELA: Memoir introduction, lesson shared and exemplars. Due on March 6th.

Grade Eight Language Arts debates begin Monday! (8E begins Tuesday) I am truly looking forward to seeing you shine! You have all worked so hard collecting data and researching various topics. Can you tell that I am proud of you? :) Please practice your speech before the big day and be sure to read for at least 20 minutes a day.

Updates from Mrs. Thain :)

7F LA and 7ELA have almost finished sharing their narratives. I can honestly say that I have been so very impressed by the phenomenal word choice, imagination and voice within each piece. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading and hearing these most creative selections. Thank you most sincerely for taking such pride in your work. P.S  Read...read...read every day to build fluency and to expand your vocabulary. :)
8F and 8E LA: I have noticed how engaged you are in discovering facts that can help you prepare for your debates.  You have all found many quotes that are sure to persuade your audience to agree with you.  I have been impressed by the amount of information you have included in your speeches in such a short amount of time. I look forward to debates on Monday! :) P.S Please read every day for at least 20 minutes. Yes...it is for homework, but it is good for you.
Thank you!
